When bad habits take over, we can go down a dark path. Now more than ever, we need to create good healthy habits to boost immunity, create balance and overall wellness. This is the first of 4 "3 ways" posts for you to focus on in 2021. ⁣⁣⁣

Let's begin with creating 3 new FOOD habits. Practice makes perfect. This will take ficus and time, but it will be worth it when you turn those bad habits to good ones!⁣⁣⁣

1. Eat Healthy Fats: Do you have a 3pm witching hour? Do you get that “hangry” feeling through the day? Adding healthy fats to your meals will help! They take longer to digest and are an amazing source of fuel. Avocados, nuts, seeds, eggs and fattier fishes are all good sources of healthy fats.⁣⁣

2. Listen To Your Gut: The saying holds true on many levels. Your gut is your second brain & pretty much regulates your immune system. Poor gut health has been linked to many health problems. Consuming foods that are high in fiber is huge. Fiber feeds your good gut bacteria. Also add yummy fermented foods like kimchi, kombucha and sauerkraut to your diet will make for a happy gut! ⁣⁣

3. Use Your Senses While Eating: Smell, taste and enjoy your foods. Sit down and appreciate the people around you. Having a family meal or being out to dinner with friends should be about the company. Not the extra bread and goodies on the table. Portion your plate and walk away from the serving dish. Slowing down and truly enjoying the food you put in your mouth can make all the difference in the world.
