Whats all this hype over pink Himalayan salt? 

Where does it even come from?  The pink Himalayan salt beds were covered by lava and then ice and snow for thousands of years. The salt was protected from modern day pollution and preserved in an untouched, pristine environment.  This is why it is known as the purest salt.  

Why does the body need salt?

Sodium chloride is an essential trace mineral found in salt. The body needs this for a variety of functions.

It can support:

  • contracting and relaxing muscles
  • maintaining proper fluid balance and prevent dehydration
  • sending nervous system impulses
  • preventing low blood pressure
  • Balance body PH level
  • Improves respiratory health

 

What is the difference between table salt and sea salts? (Like Pink Himalayan and Keltic salt)

Table salt is highly processed and stripped of all minerals except sodium chloride. The process of stripping and adding in anti-clumping agents and aluminum (a heavy metal) changes how the sodium reacts in your body.  It causes higher blood pressure and digestive issues.
